Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) have become a major topic of discussion and concern for community health centers (CHCs). Unfortunately, much is still unclear about how ACOs will be setup or function. ACOs are generally understood to be a network of hospitals and other providers that agree to share accountability for the care provided to patients and any savings achieved among the ACO members.

From the Executive Director For most, the new year brings resolutions for good things to come. Since February 2009 health centers have experienced SO many good things, our plates continually run over as a result of the deluge of growth. It should be re-emphasized that community health centers (CHC) currently provide care to nearly 20 million people in the fifty states as well as Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Guam making the CHC program the largest single health system in the nation.
